PROVIDED BY HDBBA (To Classes- Jr. Women's,

Open, Dummy Derby, Yearling, Derby, & Classic) 

The HDBBA offers a Ranch Raised Side Pot option for Dummy Bovine under the following rules and requirements:

  1. Eligibility
    a. The Dummy Bovine must have been born on the property of a current, paid HDBBA member.
    b. The Dummy Bovine must carry one (1) brand only.
    c. The owner must hold a full, paid HDBBA membership at the time of entry.

  2. Entry Fee
    a. A $50 Ranch Raised Side Pot fee is required for participation.

  3. Payout
    a. The Ranch Raised Side Pot will be paid at 100% payback.
    b. Payout will be distributed at the conclusion of the dummy bull classes.

  4. Year-End Award
    a. The HDBBA will present a year-end buckle to the Ranch Raised Dummy Bovine that accumulates the highest total points for the season.

OFFERING: Dummy Bull 4D Format

The Dummy Bull 4D is open to any dummy animal entered in the event.  

Contractors may enter by paying the regular entry fee plus a $50 add-on, with 100% payback of the 4D pot.

All dummy animals will be ranked from highest to lowest after bucking.

Based on 80 entries:

  • 1D: 1st & 2nd

  • 2D: 21st & 22nd

  • 3D: 41st & 42nd

  • 4D: 61st & 62nd

With fewer than 80 entries, the HDBBA reserves the right to adjust to a 2D or 3D format.

Oregon Challenge

Contractors must enter both the Hermiston, OR and Sisters, OR events to be eligible for the Oregon Challenge.

The contractor with the highest combined total from their top 3 bull scores at Hermiston and their top 3 bull scores at Sisters will win a saddle.

The runner-up will receive a pair of spurs.
